Michael: Hello there! Michael and Quint here. Today, we have a tournament review of our ‘journey’ to the Vienna Masters.
Before we start, special shoutout to the very epic TO’s for organizing the tournament – it was great fun, and just as last year’s WTC, the venue being the Austrian Gaming Festival – including full access to the convention itself!
In addition, with this tournament we are now on a 3-Tourney streak of us meeting younger Underworlds players on their journey to become better and this time we wanted to feature Jerry (who is posing with us in the thumbnail) – so massive shoutout to Jerry for continuing his Underworlds journey despite setbacks and other obstacles! This is a call for other younger players – if you want to go to a tourney, don’t be worried – everyone is really nice and friendly and will help ๐
With that, let’s start!
Tournament Prep
Quint: Both Michael and I decided what to bring on friday evening, with me debating what Zephyrites deck to bring and Michael having absolutely no idea. In the end, I settled on ES/PP, run with Supremacy and 5 surges. The deck wasnโt the most fun, and I still believe PP/RF is stronger, but it was a lot easier to run, especially for a two day event where I needed all of my brainpower.
Michael: I decided to settle on PnP/DS Spiteclaw for two reasons. One, Spiteclaw is very cute and one of my favorite warbands to play with! Second, PnP DS was most likely getting nerfed in the coming week (it’s been 3 since then and still no nerfs lol) so I thought this was my last chance to play the most OP deck I have used casually. Obviously it was a very position intensive deck but thankfully I don’t often struggle with mental fatigue during Underworlds games (subtle foreshadowing this went horribly wrong).
Quint and I naturally played some practice games together before we started, and we ended up with a 1-1 score.

Tournament Experience
Quint: The tournament took place at Spielefest, a pretty big convention with a lot of board games, esports, cosplayers and TCGโs, and of course Warhammer! There was a large tournament hall where we had a small section for the Underworlds tournament. During the weekend, we got some good deals on some Magic cards, and played some games on sunday evening, after the tournament. Continuing our run of meeting other younglings at tournaments, I met Jerry, a friend of Michael, who was really chill and fun to hang out with!
Before the tourney started, I was on a train-trip through Europe, visiting Berlin and Prague, before coming to Vienna! It was really beautiful and especially Prague was very impressive, with it’s countless churches and complicated rooftops. Now, before becoming an actual blog (and not just a Warhammer blog), I have to confess something. I completely forgot to take any pictures during the tournament, so instead of photos from the games, I’ll put in photographs from my travels (and pictures Michael took of me eating food). So, just pretend like they’re very interesting gamestates lol.

Michael: I already was at the Spielfest last year for WTC so I knew what the expectations were from the venue and it did not dissapoint! There were a ton of board games and videogames too, which we spent a lot of time walking around and checking out. As usual, the Underworlds crowd was extremely friendly and chill – again one of the best parts about the game is the absolutely marvelous community!
Day One:
Round 1
Quint: My first game was against Jerry, who Iโd just met, and was still putting his deck together from some cards he borrowed from Michael. After helping him sleeve and a good half hour into our time, we could finally begin! Jerry played Starblood Stalkers ES/PP, which is a pretty rough matchup for me, but I managed to get good token placement and take apart the warband from afar. Some good Objective sequencing and amazing defense rolls finished game one with 24-17.

The second game was a bit tighter, as Jerry had definitely figured out some weaknesses in my strategy (mainly, my reliance on hitting attacks to inspire Orieth).
He managed to keep Orieth uninspired, but in doing so, left himself uninspired as well. That makes the Stalkers a whole lot weaker, allowing me to edge it out with a 17-14 win. As said before, very fun meeting you Jerry, hope to see you again soon! (also, sorry you couldn’t play ES/NP)

Michael: Michael here again. In my first round I was facing against Christian and his Elathain’s Soulraid with BA/PnP. Game 1 of Round 1 began with Tammael performing quite an aggressive charge into my territory, only to get fortified by Brawler. And let me just say that this was actually one of the biggest plays of the tournament cause I physically couldn’t kill Tammael as my entire deck relied on the United/Flanked bonus so…

Round 2 was basically me trying to bring it back by scoring some cards, and at the end of the round the score was like 5-11 or something like that. I gambled to score Torn Landscape but gave Christian his Strip the Realm, which was very not good. Round 3 I still kept trying to win, and I almost brought it back after scoring my whole hand and getting two kills but sadly I whiffed a 3 Swords attack into a 1-Dodge Tammael and lost by 1 glory (which I would have had if I didn’t gamble for Torn Landscape haha). This game was absolutely stellarly played by Christian and I can’t lie I was really worried going into Game 2.

Game 2 started VERY aggressively with me diving into Christian’s territory. Sadly my 2 Dodge, on Guard, in Cover Lurking Skaven died in 2 activations due to unlucky dice but oh well. I also failed to score Outmuscle because of Furiann’s Stand Fast but it’s fine.

Going into Round 2, I had my Delve-3 package so I delved three tokens and raised my Lurking Skaven to make sure that I had enough board control. The lurker proceeded to not die THE ENTIRE ROUND against an INSPIRED SOULRAID so that was really nice from him. Not much else happened this round.
Round 3, I dived with my schemers to try to kill Duinclaw in order to Overrun with Battering Ram and score Closed Down. Sadly, despite making 3 3-Hammer-Flanked/Reroll attacks, I connected a grand total of 1 time (which was Stand Fasted) resulting in Duinclaw surviving and me losing by a pretty close margin.

Thanks a lot for the games Christian – you played the Soulraid extremely well ๐ Especially Game 1 I felt as if I couldn’t really do much!
Round 2
Quint: My second game was against Christian, who brought the ever-present Elethain BA/PP. Although this pairing is very strong, I’ve also been playing against it for the past half year, making it a very routine gameplan: Get some damage in on Elathain if possible in round one, then kill him round two (or in round one ofcourse!), then finish Tammael, whilst killing the fish if you get the opportunity. Game one swung my way dice-wise in the first bit, allowing me to get quick inspires.
The inspired Zephyrites are no joke, and allowed me to secure a 26-17 win. We also both gave each other Strip the realm, and ended up not having it on either side xd.

After forgetting about Strip in my practice games against Michael, against Jerry and against Christian, I finally decided to lock in, and played one of my best games of WHU ever. All of my activations where on point, I denied everything, (EVEN KEEP CHOPPIN’ AND HOSTILE TAKEOVER) whilst minimizing risks and not relying on dice. I was very silent during this game, so sorry Christian if I gave you a bad experience lol. After focusing, (not the core ability) I finished 21-15.

The horrible thing about playing Elethain’s is that they always score at least 15 glory, probably 17. They are hard to kill, impossible to deny and extremely fast. However, they almost never score more than 18 glory. So if, like me, you like playing greedy decks with a 21 glory ceiling, you can just out-score them! Be careful of Twist the Knife though ๐ฆ
Michael: My second game of the day was against Starblood Stalkers played by Jerry! And yes, Quint and I swapped our opponents for the second round – quite funny. I played Jerry last WTC in the final game of the tourney, where he played Gitz. Sadly (as Quint said) Jerry got slightly scammed by a certain someone and he didn’t have his NoP deck to play his signature NoP/ES Stalkers, so he was playing his second game of ES/PnP Stalkers instead! Jerry was extremely delighted to learn he and I were playing during our lunch break that he almost choked on his food!

Round 1 began with me being aggressive Skaven. I sniped Otapatl out of existence really early with a lucky 2 Hammers/Flanked into 2 Dodge. The round ended with Jerry scoring Supremacy, but notably, the Stalkers have not inspired!

As seen on the image above, Round 2 was quite bloody. I basically just hit every attack this round while Klaq Trok missed into the Hungering Skaven resulting into me going into Round 3 with quite a big lead and a way to secure the win.
Going into Game 2, Jerry was hoping for better dice, which I can understand.
Round 1 began with me denying Strip the Realm and scoring Torn Landscape, or so I thought. In the last power step, Jerry pulled off some absolutely INSANE play where he did a Sidestep, Confusion, Canny Sapper, and a well-timed Delve to deny me Strip the Realm, get me off a token to secure Strip for HIMSELF, and deny my Torn Landscape. Which was absolutely vile, and would’ve been way worse if either of the 3 mentioned cards where in one of our hand’s.

Round 2 saw me go on another Skink farming streak where I killed Kixi and Huachi. I then knew I had most of my cards scored, so I played passively for the rest of the game and just avoided Klaq-Trok in order to secure a nice win by Round 3:

Thanks a lot to Jerry for the games! He did his best with his luck, which wasn’t very good, and especially did even better when we consider how he literally built his deck in the time allotted for Round 1 of the tourney (I can’t remember the exact scores but it was really close!). See you around, we’ll run it back someday ๐
Round 3
Quint: Man, this was a fun (and tough) one. Honza brought his amazingly painted Wurmspat with an incredibly mobile deck (BA/RF), opting to take Great Speed and Headlong Charge in place of Braced and Headcase. This meant Thyrielle was never safe, and she got dunked on early in round one.

I then proceeded to roll perfectly the entire game, meaning even the inspired Wurmspat got hit by my attacks, and I was able to kill two of them (death by a thousand arrows lol, can’t reduce my damage if I only deal one!), securing a 21-12 win.
During the second game, the dice rolls equalized, and Honza kept up with my hyper-mobile elves. Only during the 3rd round did I manage to escape, but by then, it was too late, and I’d lost most of my warband.
The incredible control that Wurmspat can exert on a gameboard made them hard to deal with, and I lost 17-13, even though I’d scored Strip the Realm. There’s just no way to get kill bounty out of these guys.

The third game was tough, as I’d lost my mental (The TO even said I looked like I’d been defeated before the third game even started). I felt like I was behind the entire game, playing worse than I could’ve. Honza tried to capitalize, but no big scoring came of it. Then, in the final round, I attempted to hit Fecula, rolling nothing on 3 hammers. I then proceeded to lose the game by three glory points, meaning I would’ve won if I’d hit the attack, once again showing how incredibly close Underworlds games stay, and their reliance on single attacks to determine entire games. 15-13 was the final score, meaning I was now going 2-1 after day one. Incredible games Honza, well played!

Michael: Going into Game 3, I would be playing against my Third S-Tier warband and third local, this time Stefan with his Starblood Stalkers and ES/NoP.
(stefan, we agreed this game doesn’t exist so please skip past the first couple paragraphs)
The best way I can describe Game 1 is ‘witchcraft was involved’. Long story short, Round 1 had us make 7 or 8 attacks, and zero connections. And it’s not like we had bad odds either. Luckily, I did get the chance to go first so I was standing on way more tokens. The glory score was 2-1 or 1-0 at this point.

Round 2 was not much better. I actually started scoring stuff due to my surges coming up but Stefan was still not on the board. I got my first connection into an unlikely target whilst missing 3 times into a 1-Shield Klaq Trok. Stefan actually managed to kill something this round, which was huge.

The game ended with my Hungering Skaven going god mode and still missing almost everything but luckily by this point I had such a huge lead due to me getting onto tokens first that it didn’t matter. Stefan managed to score his second objective in the end phase, putting the score to somewhere around 18-5 for me. On to game 2!

(stefan you can keep reading now)
Now onto Game 2, or Game 1, depending who you ask, Stefan started by killing Krrk before my first activation. Which was quite sad. I managed to get Titan of Combat and inspire Skritch instantly, so my entire Round 1 was Skritch pushing around with Commanding Stride, Skitter, Sidestep, and a charge to make 4 attacks and score Aggressive Unity.

Going into Round 2, I insta-charged Skritch into someone which was a huge mistake as I lost my heavy hitter (after he killed Kixi though). I then just sat around the whole round. Round 3 had the epic Skritch vs Klaq Troq battle, with us rolling some insane amounts of dice (such as 5 hammers into 3 Dodge on Guard) but none of them falling to allow Stefan to take the win for Game 2.

Game 3 saw me take a quick lead which was instantly brought down by the Justified Paranoia Lurking Skaven getting sniped off the face of the earth by a lucky Klaq-Trok charge. Unfortunately that’s about as far as Stefan’s luck went, cause even though he inspired and scored Slow Advance I was set up for a very strong Round 2 where I ring-a-round-a-rosied with Klaq Trok and had Krrk take up Skritch’s mantle of ‘ultimate killer’ and turned him into a turret.

Round 3 had me turtle up in a Skritch/Krrk Defiant Duo fortress and after a charge from Klaq Trok went awry I was able to kill him with Krrk to secure a quick win in both mine and Stefan’s first 3-Game Bo3 of the event.

Thanks a lot to Stefan for the games! I hope we get to play again sometime, but you played really well even despite being so tired ๐ Thanks for letting me win at 1-1 btw, very nice of you to agree to skip a third game!
Day Two:
Round 4
Quint: The three wolves (Rippa’s Snarlfangs) came down to hunt my elves (who where painted in a very red hooded scheme, so, can’t blame ’em), bringing along my second BA/RF matchup! (send help).

During the first game, Rippa charged into my leader during the first activation, rolling a crit and success, whilst my two dodge failed me. Then, his bite attack: A crit against two dodge. No problem, I say.
I was then bitten 57 times.
Having lost my leader immediately, I had to improvise, opting to flip territories. Although the wolves have 5 move, I was able to jump over them with Flying and a well-timed Hurricane Pull, allowing me to get out of their range. Very sillily, I didn’t deny Unrelenting Massacre, but luckily for me, Rudy didn’t have it in hand.
During round two and three, I slowly managed to pick off the wolves from afar, abusing their poor defense stats to land my accurate inspired attacks. I did remember to deny Arena Mortis and Unrelenting Massacre (finally), and stayed far away from the wolves, finishing 21-14 in the first game.

Game two didn’t go any better for Rudy’s dice, and I was able to keep Thyrielle alive for a lot longer. There wasn’t a lot to say about this one, I kept the wolves at arm’s length and scored my cards. An early Supremacy and Strip the Realm meant I had a good glory lead to play my expensive upgrades. Nothing much happened, and game two ended 20-13.

Michael: Game 4 was our first game of Day 2 and unfortunately I woke up quite sick this morning so I loaded myself up with chemicals to feel better and went to the event only to learn I am playing against Danielle Gorini, former World Champion and previous Austrian Masters winner in 2024 (which was the first time I played Cyreni btw) with his Shadeborn PnP WnR. This is where the mental tax of my deck kinda scared me a bit but luckily this was a deck I was really experienced with so piloting it was waaaay easier than I thought.
Round 1 began with Danielle charging into Skritch and missing. I hit back. He missed again. I killed Valyssa. He charged again. I did something but I forgot what. He charged again. I charged back, dealing 3 damage into Drusylla and denying Stay Close while also threatening an ‘Out of my way, fool-things!’ to score Strip and Torn. Danielle gambled and didn’t delve, so I score a solid 7 glory from Outmuscle, Strip, and Torn while he scored 5.

Round 2 started by me charging Drussyla with Krrk and killing her while also getting out of Range of Slythael, and later I killed Sylarc as well. Round 3 began with me hitting a 4 Hammer/Flanked attack into Slythael to table Danielle and win Game 1 very convincingly, having scored almost my entire deck.

Game 2 began with Danielle hiding all at the back of his territory. I tried to bait his warscroll by using Justified Paranoia but he ended up just ignoring my Lurking Skaven. In the last activation, Danielle charged into Skritch but thankfully missed, and I was able to get a huge attack back for a punish. I had to get rid of my Torn because otherwise I might have given Danielle Strip, so that was a lesson learned!

Round 2 had me lose Skritch but then I territory flipped with Krrk, as he went in and managed to kill Sylarc. I very luckily managed to win the roll off in Round 3 to also kill Valyssa, making sure that it was only Slythael alive at the end and forcing me a very very close win.

Thanks a lot to Danielle for the games! It’s always fun playing versus you ๐ Hope we play again soon!
Round 5
Quint: At this point, I was feeling pretty good, I was placed 2nd, going 3/1, and should’ve paired against Alessandro, who was undefeated up until that point. Mentally preparing myself to face his Thorns DS/EotK, I opened BCP, only to be met with my pairing: Danielle Gorini, playing Shadeborn PP/WR. Apparently, the pairing system was random, instead of the standard pairing options. This kinda destroyed my mental, making the last round very hard.
Facing Danielle, I was kind of nervous. The Pillage mirror is hard for me, and my fighters can be very vulnerable. This led me to make probably the worst play I’ve ever made in an Underworlds game. Let me set the stage:
It’s the first round, first activation. I go first. I have Stand Firm in hand. There is a treasure token in enemy territory that is NOT winblown, which Slythael is adjacent to. For some forsaken reason, I charge onto it, moving through a Stagger hex and missing my attack into Slythael. This leaves her adjacent to me. Danielle then hits me with Do or Die, followed by the Warscroll ping, resulting in a turn one death and an Inspired Slythael. Then, my dice walked out the back door and shot themselves through the head after witnessing that play, resulting in a 26-17 loss.

Yeah… That was a tough one. I literally played the worst game of Underworlds of my life, absolutely cooking my remaining mental and leaving me shocked.
The second game didn’t fare much better, and Danielle continued to roll amazingly, whilst completely outplaying me. Safe to say, this was a certified skill issue moment, and I lost game two 21-13.

Michael: Game 5 of the tournament was against the famous Honza, master of painting and apparently a Wurmspat enjoyer. Which also meant Quint and I played against the same opponents 4 times.
Game 1 began with me trying a more passive deployment on a blocked hex board in order to make sure that the Wurmspat get funneled into me. I charged Sepsimus but forgot to play Trapped Cache (spoiler he would go on to live the whole game on 1 health) but then Sepsimus got Brawler and became public enemy #1. Luckily my plethora of Confusions made Strip possible here as well.

I tried to get a little farther away while taking backstabs at Sepsimus in Round 2, but sadly he did manage to inspire so… yeah. I did manage to get Torn Landscape though!

In Round 3, I tried to chase down everyone but they scattered everywhere so it ended quite bad but despite this I felt like I still had a fighting chance.

Going into Game 2, my plan was to play a LOT more aggressively as it feels like just ‘running away’ wasn’t working against Honza’s hyper mobile deck.
I seem to be at a loss for images here, but Round 1 started with me scoring most of my delving stuff! I also got Strip the Realm again despite Honza’s efforts to deny it.
Going into Round 2, I made sure to try to poke the others to get them low and it ended with Skritch going into a viscous brawl with not one but TWO Wurmspat at once and he even killed Fecula!
Round 3 began with Skritch doing the super-Skaven maneuver of run away in fear. I knew Honza couldn’t chase me down, so I secured a second comfortable victory.

Game 3 was to be the last one of the tournament, so I had to focus up.
Round 1 began quite aggressively again with me trying to burst Fecula down and I did get her very low HP. I threatened to score Strip the Realm again, but didn’t have it in hand so Honza wasted a lot of turns on just moving to deny it.
Round 2 had me kill Fecula to start with, and then since I had Raised at the back of the board with the Lurking Skaven onto an Aqua, Honza used Illusory Fighter to TP right next to me. I checked his power discard pile and noticed he was basically through with his mobility stuff, so I realized I could just run away like a true skaven.
Round 3 started with Krrk going for a 4 Hammer, Flanked attack into Sepsimus and WHIFFING which was terrible. Luckily, Sepsimus did not attack back and I chased him down and hit him for real this time. Ghulgoch tried to trade me out, but kept missing a 3 Hammer with Cleave attack which got me to take a very tight 11-10 win. #nerf RF. This game stood out to me cause I actually got more glory from kills (5) than from objectives (4) and only one from aqua despite playing the ‘super smooth’ PnP DS.
Thanks a lot to Honza for the game! Sorry for snatching your ticket, but I’d do it again if I get the chance ๐ Hope we play again soon, always fun to play with you!
Placements
Quint: Alessandro won his last game, placing him in 1st place! Extremely well done, and I’m very sad we didn’t get to play, but maybe we’ll face each other at worlds? Anyways, Michael finished 2nd place, which he’ll probably rave about in the next paragraph. Danielle snatched the last medal, finishing 3rd. I myself placed 4th, which I was pretty happy with, considering how much I’d cooked myself mentally. I still am repeatedly the worst on my last game of the day, so, that’s something I’ll try to work on more in the future. I am extremely thankful for Tristan and the entire crew at Spielefest Vienna for making such an amazing event and tournament! It was really fun to see how many different countries where represented, (Austria, Czech Republic, Italy and the Netherlands!?!) and I really enjoyed my games! (except maybe the last one… Sorry Danielle for any salt from my end)
Michael: Well, Quint did kind of spoil the results and yes I did manage to take 2nd with my Spiteclaws, which was really cool! This was also my 5th time coming second place since Worlds 2025, which is getting kind of annoying at this point (but I guess I shouldn’t be complaining ๐ )
The other thing I have to say is we have the exact same Top 3 this year as the very first Austrian Masters back in 2024, which I thought was quite funny! (also it means it’s my turn next year, right guys?)

2026 winners + Tristan vs. 2024 winners + Tristan
With that, massive thanks to Tristan for TOing the whole event (and for just taking care of all of us in general – I don’t know how we would have gotten through the lines and how I would have survived Day 2 without your support) and to the Austrian Spielefest community for letting us use your space! Hopefully we will be back next year, and hopefully we’ll get to see more of you Underworlds players there as well ๐
Meta Report
Quint: The tournament meta was actually pretty fun and diverse, although I only played against a single “off-meta” pairing. BA/RF, ES/PP and BA/PP where at the party, but there where two Thorns players (EotK/DS and EotK/NP) and a Thanatek player! (who wasn’t Michael!?!)
The Zephyrites are an extremely interesting team, and slot very nicely into the meta. They play well against agressive teams, but can struggle to inspire against defensive Hold Objective warbands (such as Starblood Stalkers). In most games, the first few attacks you make are pivotal, so try and line up your own Winblown hexes and make your opponents flanked! Having at least two of Orieth/Thyrielle/Sikirith inspired makes your life so much easier.
ES/PP was a very boring pairing for them, and also, not even that good! You don’t have any defense early round, so you get knocked around quite easily. In my opinion, PP/RF is the superior option, being very challenging, but extremely rewarding, flexible, and fun (most importantly).
The main issue they have though, is the “Exiled Dead Syndrome” (thanks Honza): Warbands that are “hard” to play will never see a lot of tournament play, since most players will simply not figure out how to play them! Judging by the length of my Zephyrites article, you might be able to guess that this is extremely true for this warband. They can do so much, but it’s so difficult to track and use Thzul correctly, paired with the added difficulty of choosing a deck pairing, and the optimal PP/RF being very weird, this warband has officially been diagnosed with the Exiled Dead Syndrome, and thus, will be placed in A- tier for the rest of eternity.
Michael: I’m kinda hijacking Quint’s section here but I have some thoughts on the meta (from what I played) as well.
Despite winning against both Stalkers players, I feel as though they are still extremely oppressive. Like, why does Klaq Trok have the best attack/move/save in the game. Also to note, Jerry (Stalkers #1) was playing a wrong deck, and Stefan (Stalkers #2) we played with in the last round so both of our mental fortitude was kind of down, and I could especially see it on him.
Elathain is still pretty good but in full honesty I feel as though the issue is BA rather than Elathain, at least in my game. Like, yeah their stats are bonkers but unlike other top dogs they don’t have access to a Damage 3 attack which severely hinders them and makes them very exploitable by a Great Fortitude. I’m not saying they are bad, I’m saying the pairing is the issue.
I also played against a Wurmspat BA/RF which felt really oppressive, and was probably the hardest game of my tournament. Their stats are still super insane, and their damage output paired with accuracy is just unholy. Like the main reason I won Game 3 vs Honza is cause his dice thought the tourney ended already and stopped rolling hits.
Shadeborn were NOT on my radar this tourney but after the games I realized they go kind of crazy as a counter meta warband, so something to keep in mind. Their warscroll counters Elathain and especially Stalkers and their damage output helps keep Wurmspat and Emberwatch in check as well. Despite not being broken they felt very good especially into today’s top warbands.
As a Spiteclaw player, pls don’t nerf spiteclaw but oh my gosh they feel nice to play, especially after playing Thanatek for so long. Like, they are all on 3-4 health and all have extremely solid save on top of doing some crazy damage and accuracy. Their biggest weakness is Skritch and Krrk being the ‘main’ guys, but they are definitely up there at Stalkers level of power imo.
Finally, my biggest pet peeve this event was BRAWLER. OH MY GOSH. Like, Bladecatcher is restricted cause it “shuts down some warbands”. Hate to be that guy, but Brawler is a) more versatile and b) not only shuts down several warbands (Spiteclaw included) but also shuts down an entire DECK which happens to be one of the most popular in the meta right now. In addition, GW’s new trend of putting ‘Flanked’ on every card and warscroll possible makes Brawler coming out even worse. Like i’m fine with Inviolate, which it’s strong there is counterplay, but Brawler needs to get forsaken man (im not salty at all btw)
This tourney did show that the meta is alive and thriving with lots of weird warband picks as Quint already mentioned so lets hope that keeps going! My biggest surprise is the complete lack of CtC this event, as it’s my favorite deck and imo very strong. But I guess the amount of pings in it might affect my decision…
Quint: Although the warband selection is very diverse and a lot of teams are viable, the same isn’t true for decks, where it’s still always a “will it blazing, will it pillage, or will it blazing pillage?” situation. I kinda agree with Michael in that Brawler needs some kind of change, but mainly, I want to see some new decks! I really hope we get some insane combo’s in the future that haven’t been figured out yet, hopefully without Pillage and Plunder this time :).
Michael: And with that, thanks a lot for reading ๐ I hope you enjoyed the article (and hopefully Quint hopes so too) and again just want to say thanks to Tristan and the Spielfest for hosting such a great tourney! If you have any questions or comments or just want to chat with myself and Quint please reach out to us on the Staggerers discord, and with that, again thanks for reading and I hope to see you again soon ๐
